1. Each Penalty will be specified and the reasons given in writing by the contest official.  All participants of the VIP competition agree to abide by the decisions of the contest official. (numbers refer to corresponding rules)

2. The use of performers who are not bona fide students (other than an adult specified on certification form) of a particular choir's high school as attested to by the principal on the certification form will result in that group's not being judged or ranked, and in being restricted from participation in the VIP competition for a period of at least two years.

3. The use of a director who is not a bona fide music educator of the participating school will result in the group's disqualification.

4. Penalty for a director singing with his/her group will be disqualified.

5. Five points will be subtracted from the final total for each person over and above the one member allowed on stage during set up of CHS provided equipment.

6. One point will be subtracted from the final total fore every minute or fraction there of exceeding the allotted time constraints.
