Haddy
Robert Haddy
is Capital High School’s artist in residence. In the late 90’s Robert took time
to study Special Effects Make up artistry and animatronics puppetry at a specialty
school in Hollywood California, Joe Blasco.
He also appeared in numerous television shows and movies as an extra
actor. After that he worked for
a special effects shop named Alterian Studios Inc., located just outside Los
Angeles. While working for Alterian,
Robert was able to hone his skills even further by working on such movies as
“Batman and Robin”, “Contact” (staring Jodie Foster), and “Something About Mary”,
just to name a few.
Robert then retuned
to Charleston and to Capital high school after his stay in LA to once again
teach the students all the cool new things he had learned and to provide a positive
image. It was during this first
trip home that he worked on the “Haunted Trail: Bio Hazard” and “Beauty and
the Beast” for Capital’s performances.
Robert once again returned to Capital’s theatre and helped work on “Snow White
and the Seven Dwarfs”, “The Haunted Trail: Your Worst Nightmare”, and “How the
Grinch Stole Christmas” for the dance company's
Christmas show. Robert even
made a cameo appearance in the “Performing Arts Holiday.”
