Imagine U: A Virtual Healthcare Experience

Capital High School was selected to participate in an exciting 21st Century learning project, "Imagine U: A Virtual Health Care Experience". This unique program gave students the privilege to participate in an actual "Open Heart Bypass Surgery" telecast within their classroom. The surgery was preformed by a local cardiovascular surgeon within CAMC. Students enrolled in Ms. Kol's Dual-credit Anatomy class participated in the virtual telecast.

The Virtual Healthcare Experience consisted of 3 main parts; a pre-op with five lessons designed to strength and enhance the experience, "Behind the Scenes" DVD, which introduced students to the healthcare team, and the Surgery Broadcast, with a question and answer opportunity with: Dr. Ed Hayer, Manger of Cardiac Rehab at CAMC; Zach Richards from CAMC's CEO's Office, and Ms. Rebecca Davis from the WVDE.
