I am the vice president of the American Federation of Teachers/West Virginia and the vice president of the American Federation of Teachers/ Kanawha. I am the chairperson of the Special Education Department at Capital High. I have served on the Standards Committee for the National Boards for my profession in Special Education, nationally.
I have dedicated 41 years of my life to the teaching profession. In March of 2009, I had the privilege of being selected to attend a town hall meeting in Washinton, DC with President Obama, on health and education.
I would like to say I have enjoyed working at Capital High School, although my first love, in my many years of teaching will always be Lincoln Jr. High School. I am very proud of the Special Education Department. They encompass all areas of exceptionality. I am also a member of the Bethel Baptist Church of Cannelton, WV.
