Freshman Shadowing Program

The Freshman Shadowing Program is for students who are either currently undecided on their high school choice or are interested in experiencing a regular day in high school, in order to make a more informed decision.  Students who apply will either select or be assigned a student mentor to see them through the program.  The applying student will follow the

schedule of the student mentor and have the opportunity to ask any questions of students, teachers and administrators.  The purpose is to give upcoming students a taste of a regular high school day at Capital, so they can make the decision that is best for them in determining their high school.

WHO CAN APPLY?

Anyone in the upcoming 9th grade class can apply for the program.

CAN I CHOOSE MY STUDENT MENTOR?

Yes, you can choose a student mentor to shadow with the approval of the school.  If you do not choose your own student mentor you will be assigned one that has similar interests and similar academic schedule.

HOW DO I APPLY?

The easiest way to apply is by filling out the online form below. You can also contact Michelle Legg, Student Council Advisor, by calling (304) 348-6500 x159 and have an application mailed to you.
